State police have charged an Indiana woman following an investigation dating back to last year .
Troopers say 35-year-old Jacqueline Elise Caylor was charged with theft after an investigation revealed that she stole approximately $23,400 from an unnamed 88-year-old woman while acting as her caregiver.
On December 8th, members of the Troop A barracks were notified by the woman’s family that several transactions were made from her bank account, and that between June 10th and October 4th, several checks were made out to Caylor using the woman’s signature and that the woman’s credit card was used to make transactions without her permission.
The woman’s family told police that Caylor became her caregiver one year prior and a search warrant was executed on her bank account.
Caylor was arraigned in front of District Judge Suzanne Steffee on felony charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking, Identity Theft, Access Device Fraud, Receiving Stolen Property, and Forgery, and she was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
Formal arraignment is scheduled for April 25th.
