Indiana County fire crews were busy with three fires on Friday.
The first fire was at 3:43 PM as a brush fire was reported along Route 286 in Glen Campbell Borough. Glen Campbell firefighters were dispatched. This marks the 52nd brush fire in Indiana County this year. Fire officials reported that it was just leaves on fire, and no real damage was reported.
The second fire was a reported structure fire on Cornell Road in Burrell Township. Black Lick and Blairsville fire departments were called out at the time. Black Lick fire officials said on the department’s Facebook page that crews found a small fire under a trailer. Crews were able to use a dry-chemical extinguisher to put the fire out, then checked the trailer for any extensions before ventilating the trailer.
The third fire was reported at 10:59 last night on Plaza Road in White Township. Indiana fire crews, Citizens’ Ambulance and the county HAZMAT team were dispatched at the time. Details on this fire have not been released yet.
Other calls included the Coral-Graceton fire department and Citizens’ Ambulance setting up a landing zone on Murray Avenue in Center Township at 12:16 PM, and a vehicle crash on Mahoning Road in South Mahoning Township that called out the Plumville fire department, Citizens’ Ambulance and state police at 10:22 PM.
