Indiana Borough has started a new initiative to help with decaying sidewalks in the borough.
The Sidewalk Repair Assistance Program is being funded through money secured via the American Rescue Plan Act, and will address hazardous sidewalks in the borough by providing financial aid.
Indiana Borough Planner and Zoning Officer Trajean Jones said that this is an effort to make the borough a more walkable community, and that starts with making walking through the borough easier.
The amount will be determined based on the condition of the sidewalk, and applications will be considered on a first-come first-served basis.
For more information on the program, you can contact the borough’s code enforcement office at 724-465-6543, or send an email to the borough at contact-us@indianaboro.com.
