Saltsburg will see an influx of visitors this weekend as the 41st Historic Canal Days will take place.
The three-day affair happens every first weekend in June in Canal Park and celebrates the history of Saltsburg with a variety of live music, games, food stands, and vendors. Jim Libengood, one of the event’s organizers, talked about how the festival has grown since its inception.
Several musical acts are slated to kick off Canal Days on the Big Dog Energy Stage. Somebody to Love opens the festival at 5 o’clock, followed by Blairsville native and Nashville singer-songwriter Amber Marie at 7. The headlining act will be rock-and-roll group The Shiners. They take the stage starting at 8.
Events continue Saturday and Sunday. For a complete schedule, log on to the Saltsburg Canal Days Facebook page.
