Homer City Post 493 defeated Kovacik Insurance 10-2 at First Commonwealth Bank Field following the Bellefonte/Hopewell playoff game. Homer City is now 5-2 on the season.
SENIOR LEGION
Andrew McGee three six and two-thirds innings of shutout baseball as Homer City Post 493 blanked Blairsville, 3-0. McGee gave up just two hits, walked one, hit a batter, and struck out eight. Garrett Minnick came in to record the final out and got the save. Kadin Homer broke a 0-0 tie in the fifth with a two-run double. It was one of two hits for Homer. Michael Dolan drove in the other run. McGee and Jon Cribbs each had a hit. For Blairsville, Niko Vadala and Sam Yanits had the two hits.
Homer City Post 493 will play a doubleheader against Latrobe today, first pitch at five o’clock.
