Some Students in IUP’s Criminal Justice Training Center have received scholarships thanks to a donation from Quest for the Best.
The charitable organization out of Wayne in Delaware County has provided $66,700 in scholarships for students at IUP’s center who are in training to become municipal police officers. This marks the first time that the IUP Center has been selected to receive the scholarships. This year’s recipients include Cameron Cooper of Johnstown who was hired by the Richland Police Department, Andreana Malcotti of Indiana who was hired by Altoona Police, and Timothy Troy of Shaler who was hired by the Plum police department. They will each receive an amount equal to half of their municipal police training tuition.
In a statement, IUP Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Laura Leutkhans said the university was grateful for the funding and for the recognition of excellence that this brings.
