Barbara (Leamer) Gapshes, 81, of Penn Run, died Friday, August 18, 2023. Born February 26, 1942 in Twin Rocks, Cambria County, she was the daughter of Gordon Allen Leamer and Marcella June (Haag) Leamer. She was the widow of Benjamin Franklin Gapshes, who died September 27, 2022.
Barbara was a secretary in the Oil & Gas industry, having worked for R & P Coal, Royal Oil & Gas and S.W.Jack Drilling Co. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by her children, Stacia Haines (Frank), of Indiana and Steven Gapshes, of Penn Run.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
There will be no service. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Her cremation has been entrusted to the care of Rairigh-Bence Funeral Home & Crematory of Indiana. Condolences may be offered by visiting rbfh.net
