On Monday, the Marion Center School Board approved the evaluation for Superintendent Clint Weimer and a five-year contract for him.
The vote for the “above average” evaluation was unanimous, while the new contract was a 6-1 vote with Charles Beatty, Jr. casting the lone vote against. During the meeting, Ronald Fulton said that he was very happy with the work that Weimer has done so far.
In other business, the board approved by a 6-1 vote to empower HHSDR to prepare drawings and bid documents, publish and solicit bids for an air conditioning project at Rayne Elementary School. Weimer said the project will be funded using leftover ESSER funds.
The system will be a forced air system, as he said it would be the most compatible for Rayne Elementary School.
The board also accepted with regret the retirement of Vicki Trimble-Reinard effective at the end of December. She has worked for the district for 41 years. The board also appointed Lou Palilla as the assistant business manager. He has been the district accountant for the last 14 years.
