Since their post office building burned in 2016, residents of Coral and Graceton have had to drive to Homer City to get their mail. Now the Coral-Graceton Volunteer Fire Company is working on a plan to get their post office back.
In a social media post, the fire company says it has set up a public meeting on January 22nd at 6 PM at their social hall. The fire company has been communicating with the U.S. Postal Service and the office of Congressman Glenn G.T. Thompson and says, “The discussion will center around the plan to create a new post office.” It urges members of the public to attend.
Aaron Liggett of Blairsville, who was 19 at the time of the fire and just turned 23 last week, pleaded guilty in January of 2017 to two counts of arson and three counts of failure to control a fire in connection with five area fires which caused an estimated $400,000 in damage.
