The fourth week of the high school football season finds two undefeated teams remaining in the Heritage Conference and both of them are on the air tonight. Plus, on WDAD and Renda Digital TV, Indiana opens section play against Mars, one of the favorites in the Greater Allegheny Conference.
Indiana coach Brad Wright hopes his team will remember that they were routed by Mars last year.
On WCCS and Renda Digital TV, unbeaten United Valley plays host to Homer-Center. Both teams are playing with backup quarterbacks after their starters were injured last week, and in Homer-Center’s case, they are also playing without their starting center.
Wildcats coach Greg Page says United Valley coach Kevin Marabito and his staff have worked hard to blend United and Blacklick Valley’s programs together, and he can see the results.
After struggling to stop River Valley’s offense last week, Page says his defense will need to step up tonight.
Marabito and Page are longtime friends and proteges of Jerry Page at Laurel Valley. Marabito expects Page and the Wildcats to bounce back from last week’s loss.
On U92 tonight, undefeated Purchase Line will welcome once-beaten Northern Cambria, with the Red Dragons coming off a dominant performance last week against West Shamokin and the Colts overcoming injuries last week to beat Marion Center.
Purchase Line coach Matt Falisec says he is wary of the Colts.
Northern Cambria coach Sam Shutty is impressed with Purchase Line’s fast-closing defense.
On Cat Country 106.3 FM, two teams on the rise clash as River Valley travels to Cambria Heights.
Panthers coach Jess Houser says the Highlanders are typically tough.
Houser hopes his special teams are able to provide a spark.
Cambria Heights coach Jarrod Lewis is impressed with what he’s seen of River Valley.
Lewis would love to win the turnover battle tonight.
Elsewhere in the Heritage Conference, Penns Manor will play host to Conemaugh Valley. Portage will travel to Marion Center. West Shamokin has Conemaugh Township at home.
All of the broadcasts begin with the Indiana Total Therapy Pregame Show at 6:30, except the Homer-Center/United Valley game, which airs at 6:15.
