IUP has been named to several best-of lists for colleges and universities recently, but they received a dubious honor this week by being named #1 on a list of the top party schools in the United States.
The list was published by the Wall Street Journal and was based on surveys conducted by the Journal and by College Pulse. Over 60,000 students and graduates were asked about their learning experiences, career prep, and other parts of college life, including their satisfaction with the college’s party scene. Respondents were asked to rank the college party experience on a scale of one to five, with one being the best rating and five the worst. IUP received a 1.7 out of five for that category.
The second-best party school went to Texas Christian University in Texas and third went to Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama.
