Indiana High’s Alex Bauer has signed a national letter of intent to join the Pitt Panthers swim team. The senior is a five-time PIAA All-State Swim Team member and a two-time WPIAL All-Section soccer player.
According to the Panthers’ release celebrating Bauer’s signing along with five other male swimmers, he “primarily swims the 100 Breast (55.63), 200 Breast (2:01.56), 200 IM (1:51.57) and the 400 IM (4:05.35)….was the PIAA 2A State Meet runner-up in the 100 Breast as a junior and has been the WPIAL runner-up three times in the 500 Free, 200 IM and the 100 Breast.
(He) is the second fastest 100 and 200 breaststroker in the state of Pennsylvania in the class of 2024.”
The Pitt coaching staff calls Bauer “a very athletic young man who has not exclusively swum year round, but has produced some great results over the last couple years. As he devotes himself completely to swimming, he will develop really well in our program.”
