A New Kensington man is in stable condition but in a medically-induced coma after he was shot during the rally for former President Donald Trump on Saturday in Butler.
57-year-old David Dutch was shot in the liver and chest by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Dutch along with 74-year-old James Copenhaver of Moon Township are both in stable condition in the hospital while a third person, 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, was killed. Online fundraisers have been set up to help the surviving victims and the family of Comperatore.
Crooks was shot and killed by secret service agents after he shot at the former president. Trump was injured, but was released after he was treated at a hospital. He is now preparing for an appearance at the Republican National Convention.
We will have an interview with an eyewitness to the shooting later this morning on Indiana in the Morning.
