PennDOT is warning people of an upcoming superload that will be on some roads in Indiana, Jefferson and Westmoreland Counties on Monday.
Officials did not say what was being transported, but they did say that the superload is 136 feet long, nearly 28 feet wide and weighs 150 tons and it is headed from Columbiana, Ohio to Allegheny County. The load will take I-80 until it gets to Jefferson County, then use Routes 36, 436 and 119 to reach Indiana County. It will remain on 119 and then get on to Route 22 to go through Westmoreland County and then into Allegheny County.
Southern Pines trucking of Aliquippa will handle the hauling. The superload will move as a rolling slowdown using two lanes of traffic and that could cause some traffic stoppages and travel delays. The load is expected to go about 25-30 miles an hour or slower as needed.
Drivers are advised to use alternate routes when possible.
