Pitt has announced Allen Greene will take over as athletic director, replacing Heather Lyke, who was fired last month.
ESPN reports Greene was the senior deputy athletic director and chief operating officer at Tennessee. Prior to that, he spent time as the athletic director at Buffalo and Auburn, and in various roles with Ole Miss and Notre Dame.
Greene brings a strong background in football, NIL, finances, and fundraising to Pennsylvania, things that university chancellor Joan Gabel homed in on after Lyke was fired.
No date has been set for Greene’s first day at Pitt.
