In 1967 Reprise Records signed the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
In 1999 Marilyn Manson issued a statement regarding the shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado, saying, quote, “It’s tragic and disgusting anytime young people’s lives are taken in an act of senseless violence. My condolences go out to the students and their families.”
In 2007 Heaven and Hell, a reunion of the Dio-era Black Sabbath, launched the U.S. leg of the band’s world tour in Phoenix.
In 2010 Bret Michaels was hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage. The Poison frontman had been suffering with a severe headache, which prompted him to seek treatment. Michaels suffered the brain hemorrhage less than two weeks after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.
In 2013 Folk legend Richie Havens died of a heart attack at his home in New Jersey. He was 72.
