Sting is reaffirming that his six children won’t be inheriting his fortune.
In a new interview with CBS News Sunday Morning, the singer explained that all of his children have an “extraordinary work ethic” and he’s encouraged them to build their own paths. He added “I think that there’s a kindness there and a trust in them that they will make their own way.” Sting also explained that he believes it’s “cruel” telling children they “don’t have to work” and it’s “a form of abuse that I know I’m never guilty of.” The musician first mentioned his refusal to pass his fortune to his children in a 2014 interview with Mail on Sunday.
In 2022, Sting reportedly sold his songwriting catalog to Universal Music Publishing Group in a 250-million-dollar deal.
